Present Role AlbertaLed multi-well horizontal drilling programs in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. Developed standardized completion designs reducing per-well costs by over 15%. Mentored junior engineers and coordinated with regulatory bodies (AER/BCOGC).
Delivered advanced well design and drilling programs for HPHT Production and Injection wells in the Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Thunder Horse fields (~6,500 ft water depth) utilizing modern Drillship and Semi-submersible rigs. Led Rig Intake and Start-up of two 6th Generation Drillships — West Auriga and West Vela — for GoM operations; delivered Statement of Requirements, evaluated D&C equipment and third-party services.
WCSB GoM Deepwater 6th Gen DrillshipsServed as Drilling Engineering Advisor for Canadia Superior Energy, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Successfully designed and delivered drilling program for the 4,500 m Marquis GC-67 Exploration well using Jack-up Rig Rowan Gorilla-V (water depth 70 m), incorporating Annular Velocity Control (AVC) technique to drill a highly fractured reef reservoir.
Served in senior technical advisory roles for Waha Oil Company, Libya. Responsible for well design approvals, contractor selection, drilling program oversight, and post-well reviews on complex HPHT and horizontal wells.
Canada AfricaPlanned, designed and delivered drilling and completion programs for exploratory, development, delineation, heavy oil, injection and disposal wells across 11 fields. Executed D&C operations on vertical, directional and horizontal wells, HPHT Jurassic Marrat wells, and single/dual completions. Drilled through total-loss circulation zones in Shuaiba vuggy limestone using Floating Mud Cap. Reviewed 67 post-war capped wells and delivered Decision Support Packages for re-entry drilling and final abandonment. Received recognition for saving $3.5 million through Drilling Asset Management leadership.
Middle East Field Support WellheadsOperational and Administrative In-charge in a remote frontier area in the Himalayan foothills, managing more than 70 employees and contractors. Led drilling, completions and testing of exploratory, development and appraisal wells. Planned and completed six deep 4,300 m TVD wells with minimum downtime. Commissioned a new AC-SCR E-3000 rig and directed operations of complex HPHT exploratory well Loc. KUG (6,100 m TVD). Solved complex drilling challenges including boulder bed drilling, severe lost circulation, hole collapse, high torque, and stuck pipe. Liaised with local authorities to conduct operations in a sensitive remote area.
India Deep Exploration Wells Problem SolutionsReplaced expatriate Toolpushers on charter-hire super-deep drilling rigs. Managed operations safely across onshore and offshore oil and gas fields. Supervised deep HPHT Exploration well Loc. JMI-B (6,720 m TVD) in the complex Himalayan region.
